Rated 4 out of 5 by from Manicare Crystal Hair Remover [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Solid product for those who don't like waxing. I wax most of the time so my hair is fine and this worked well with the exception of not being a long lasting solution. It got really close to the skin and left it smooth for a few days. Helped to exfoliate using the gloves and sponge provided as part of the trial team pack. It had the added benefit of removing some dry skin around my knees and its east to handle, being small and ergonomic. Good product for those who want a better option to shaving.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but unsure I would use long term [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product really does work - providing you’re using it correctly. Exfoliate first, dry off, make sure your skin is dry (no lotions, creams), use in circular motions (usually need to go over the same spot a couple of times) and then moisturise after. My skin was definitely smooth and hair free after use. Not sure I would use this long term however - there’s definitely a few steps to the process, I definitely find shaving in the shower a lot easier. However I can see the benefits of this product, I’d probably use this in between shaves for up keep. Don’t use on sensitive spots and/or hard to reach places I.e ankles, as it hurts!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective Method of Hair Removal [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was first sceptical at trying a new hair removal tool as there are plenty on the existing market that are either painful or not effective in hair removal. Upon opening the packaging I like the size of the tool as it was too big or small to fit in my bathroom. I used it according to the instructions after stepping out of the shower whilst your skin was still soft. It was effective in removing hair however it took a long time to see any results. The time it took to do one arm, I could have used a shaver to do two arms. I also found that it did pull in some areas. I also found that it was difficult to use in non-flat areas of the body as the instructions said to keep it parallel to the skin. After I completed the area,, I found my skin was a little dry and irritated. I wouldn't recommend using the product on sensitive areas of the body. I did not see a reduction in hair growth. Overall I liked the product as it did what it said it would do however I think I will still stick with my go to hair removal process as it is a lot quicker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective for lighter hair [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Manicare hair removal system is a tool that fits nicely in the palm of your hand and has a surface with tiny crystals on it. It comes in two colours, purple and black, I received the black version. I also received the Manicare cleansing sponge and glove exfoliator to complete the system for hair removal. Overall, I found it very easy to use. During my daily shower, I used the cleansing sponge with my usual body wash to gently cleanse my skin. The day before I wanted to use the crystal, I exfoliated with the provided exfoliating gloves. I decided to focus on my legs, mainly as it's a larger surface area and I could easily see the results. I found it very comfortable to hold and use the tool. I slowly and gently rubbed in circular movements around areas of my legs where I have hair. I didn't want to press too hard as I was worried that I would have redness. However, this did not occur. I found the areas smoother and hair free. I found it a little tricky to use in spots with angular areas, for example, my ankles. Regrowth was slow and I was happy with the outcome. It's only required to be used on a weekly basis, so it's easy to maintain the growth. It's also easily washable with tap water to give it a quick clean. My only gripe would be that I wished the crystal tool actually came with a little pouch to place it in as a storage holder.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gentle yet effective [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Manicare Crystal Hair Remover is highly recommended product for professional who are having busy busy life styles and with less time to take good care of themselves. This hair remover gives me the peace of mind when I need it to "clear" myself up in a very short time before going out for important functions. It is gentle that i do not have to worry about harming my skin. It is also very easy to use. Anyone can use it without going through any user manuals. worth a try. the pocket size hair remover is also great to take it with me when travelling.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Manicare® Crystal Hair Remover [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you BH For the trail of this product. It may be showing my age, but this product reminds me of a modern version of the silky mitt hair removers from the 90’s. The ultrafine sandpaper-like strips is a little uncomfortable with first use. It is a great alternative to shaving as the product is an effective hair remover without chemicals. I’m not sure if I’d choose it over waxing due to needing to use it twice a week. The skin exfoliation is a fantastic added benefit. I found that the best way to use this product is with light pressure in circular motions straight after a shower on dry skin. Follow up with your favourite body oil and lotion/cream. I would only recommend this product to those with normal skin. Avoid if you have sensitive or irritated skin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Crystal Hair Remover [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been seeing a lot lately about crystal hair removers and was contemplating getting one, so this trial came at the perfect time. The first thing about this is that it is easy to hold it fits in either hand perfectly and is so easy to hold. As recommended, I followed the three steps before using the crystal hair remover. I used the Manicare Exfoliating Body Sponge daily and then the day before using the crystal hair remover I exfoliated my legs using the Manicare Eco Exfoliating Gloves. I first used the Crystal hair remover after my shower firstly just on my lower legs, I applied moderate pressure and moved on slow circular movements. The result after the first go were amazing, I don’t think that my legs have ever felt this smooth. The hair on my legs was not long as I had only shaved a weeks before, so it didn’t take too long to remove the hair on both lover legs. I then used it on my thighs where the hair was a little bit longer and harder to remove, I will admit that I think I went too hard on my thighs and was left with a light burning feeling that did go away after a few hours and left no marks. After using this for the last two weeks there is a slight difference in the hair regrowth on my legs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent option for the time poor [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was quite dubious as to whether this product would work for removing hair. But I was excited to try as I 100% live in the "time poor" category - we're a FIFO family and I gave birth to my 3rd child at Christmas. On average I manage to shower about 3-4 times per week, and I definitely don't have time to shave during those showers!! So when I trialled the Crystal, I had about 3 weeks hair growth. I've also had long term issues with severe ingrown hairs, which worsens with waxing, so I'm limited in hair removal options. I used the exfoliating glove the day before, as recommended. I first tried the Crystal while breastfeeding on my couch! I was pleasantly surprised that it did indeed remove my hair painlessly! It needs quite a bit of pressure and a circular motion. It feels great in the hand and is easy to grip. What I loved most is I could do small sections at a time throughout my day when spare minutes popped up - this is brilliant for my current circumstances! I actually did my entire legs over 2 days haha. It may have taken me longer due to the 3 week growth that was already there. I also liked how the Crystal exfoliates at the same time, which leaves the skin very smooth and minimises ingrown hairs. I did not experience any irritation, but I can see how that could happen if you went over the same area too many times or with too much pressure. I also found that it did not work on certain areas of my legs e.g. on my knees, the backs of my legs where I couldn't quite apply to right amount of pressure, and the tops of thighs where I couldn't get my skin taught enough. But it removed enough hair that the next time I showered I could quickly and easily shave the missed patches without it being a half hour job! I found the regrowth was slower and softer compared to shaving regrowth, which is great. I haven't had a chance yet to try the Crystal on shorter regrowth, so I'm not able to comment on its effectiveness on short hair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Efficient and smooth results! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, the product is well-designed and has come a long way from similar products I used in my teen years. Pros: Great for larger surfaces like legs, leaves them silky smooth and is a great two-in-one as it exfoliates and removes hair Cons: Harder for smaller spaces such as ankles Can probably only be used for larger areas like legs, arms, and so on. Does take time to use as opposed to shaving, however, if you would spend time exfoliating before shaving this would cut that time out. Tips: Pull skin super tight when using Do it in the shower before showering for the dry skin and hair that comes off

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective hair remover [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tool itself was more exfoliating than other brands I have tried. This meant that the hair removal took less time. It gave me a very nice smooth finish on my legs, though I did find it difficult around my ankles- so I do wish it was shaped differently? so that I could get those "hard to get" areas. I don't have sensitive skin however it did irritate my arms so in the future I will only be using it on my legs. Overall great product for achieving flawless hair removal on your legs without razer bumps.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great, not horrible. I found that very firm pressure had to be applied and it was quite a time consuming process. On first use, I was only able to complete half of one lower leg due to the time involved. The Manicare Crystal Hair Remover does leave your skin very smooth after use, but make sure you have plenty of time up your sleeve. I would recommend the Manicare Crystal Hair Remover to those who have a lot of spare time, but for me, the speed and convenience of the razor in the shower is more important than super smooth legs. It was also really awkward to go near the ankle and around the knee. Overall it wasn’t horrible, but could definitely have improvements.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It works It does work for most hairs but there still was some hairs left behind but it exfoliated my legs the best I have ever I don’t think I would recommend buying it as it doesn’t completely get rid of all those little prickle hairs, over the knee and ankle was a bit difficult wasn’t to sure at first if it would cut me or not no cuts but did scratch myself over my ankle They have the right idea just maybe a sharper crystall on a different angle like a shaver blade. No cuts like a shaver tho so that is a plus! Well done team keep working on this item and it will work well

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Careful around moles [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Manicare® Crystal Hair Remover reminds me of a similar product I used as a teenager so I wasn't super sure about it. The Manicare® Crystal Hair Remover is designed to fit well in your hand and does have a soft feel to it. Moving it in small circles over the hair you want to remove does work well and does give you an exfoliation while you're at it. The Manicare® Crystal Hair Remover does seem to work best on coarser or shorter hair. I found it hard to use on fine, long hair. The hair grows back softer than with shaving to. Be careful if you use the Manicare® Crystal Hair Remover around any raised moles! I did take the top off a few moles which wasn't great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Bad, Not Great [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been a shaver (legs, armpits and occasionally the old lady garden) for decades. Over the years, I've tried depilatory creams, waxing, sugaring, threading, IPL, and older versions of this style of product. Brows? Threading wins for me. Legs & pits? I'm sticking with shaving in the shower while I condition my hair. I so wanted to love Manicare's Crystal Hair Remover (CHR). Their crystal nail files are truly wonderful, and the idea of having one product with no blades to be replaced pleases this planet-lover. Unfortunately, the benefits of this beautifully-designed product that feels so satisfying in my hand are outweighed for me by the drawbacks. "Store in the packaging provided", it says on the box. Well, you have to store it *in* something, because it'll scratch any surface you place it on with the crystal side down. The "packaging provided" is literally the cardboard box it comes in, and I could never get the box closed again. For those planning on using one long-term, invest in a little tray or pretty box specifically for safely stowing your CHR. The product itself is durable and will long outlive its recyclable cardboard housing. Let's be real. Many of us don't remove our body hair regularly, only shaving legs etc if they're going to be exposed, or we're looking forward to a bit of skin-to-skin with a special person. I have ADHD, 2 high-needs kids, a job, and very little spare time in my day. When I shave, it's because I have a few extra minutes, and plan on wearing something that exposes my saggy, varicose-veiny legs, or the kids are going to their dad's for the weekend and I'm looking forward to special cuddles with my partner. The CHR takes time and preparation. It's recommended that you exfoliate the day before. Um, no. My brain doesn't work like that. I know myself well enough to not commit to any process that needs me to remember to prep the day beforehand. The process of literally scrubbing the hair from your skin, and quite a lot of epidermis from the areas concerned, *is* exfoliation and my skin really didn't like the back-to-back mechanical exfoliation. Moisturiser stung when I applied it after using the CHR. Tan, fake or otherwise? GONE. I was wary of how it would affect the very prominent veins on the back of my calves, and the flat but very obvious spider veins on my shins. This meant I didn't get the best outcome in terms of hair removal. This is NOT a product for folks with eczema, atopic dermatitis or any other skin condition. I didn't see any difference in appearance, ingrown hairs or regrowth than I get with shaving. I had to vacuum the bathroom after doing my legs the first time, coz I'm a numpty and didn't realise that all that hair and skin has to go somewhere when it leaves your body. Do it in the shower cubicle or outside on the grass. Don't write it off if you're curious - you won't know unless you try, but it's not for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as convenient as shaving [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have seen these crystal hair removers popping up on Facebook ads and have been intrigued about how they work. There is nothing more annoying then getting out of the shower only to notice that my leg stubble is a little too long to get away with. I have to admit the first time I tried this I was too excited to wait until I had exfoliated and that was a bit of a disaster - there was skin particles flying everywhere and more skin that hair was removed. The second time I actually follow directions and tried it in dry legs post shower after exfoliating. I find it worked well at hair removal on the straights but I just couldn’t get the angles right to be able to remove hairs from the knee and ankle areas. I did find that it took longer than shaving too. I thought it would be a quick alternative to when I have forgotten to shave and don’t want to get back in the shower but it would still be quicker to do that. The major thing I loved about it was no nicks or cuts. It’s something I’d let my preteen use rather than razors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Manicare® Crystal Hair Remover [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky enough to receive this product as part of a trial team. It does take me back to my teenage years when there was a similar product available. The shape of Manicare Crystal Hair Remover sits extremely well in your hand making it really easy to use. Moving the product in small circles it works quickly to remove shorter hair. It does take a bit longer to work for longer hair. It gives a really deep exfoliation whilst removing hair as well which is nice. Hair grows back same time as shaving but grows back softer which is great. I would not recommend using this if you lots of raised moles as it will take the top off them. I won't use this as my only hair removal but it's a good option to have

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Effective but not mind blowing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical in first trying this product as many other hair removal tools are either painful or ineffective. However the crystal hair remover was successful in removing body hair. It was painless 85% of the time however I found in more sensitive areas that it was a little more painful. I found it wasn’t as quick as other products such as shavers as it took a few swipe to see results. The time it took to complete one arm I could have already completed two arms with a shaver. It also has to be flat on the skin so areas like the underarms or between the legs it was harder to use. I found afterwards that I had a little irritation but subsided after a few hours. However the results lasted longer than I expected. I only had to use the product again 1 time in a 3 week period. Overall it was a pleasant experience however there are other products out on the market that could produce the same results in a shorter time frame.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Undecided [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After trialling the Crystal Hair Remover for a couple of weeks I'm still undecided if I'm a fan or not. After the first use my skin was quite irritated and bumpy, but after subsequent uses and combined with the Manicare exfoliating body sponge and gloves my skin did feel silky smooth and exfoliated. I also only used the Crystal on one leg and shaved the other and did not see any real difference in hair re-growth between the two legs. Maybe over time I will see a greater reduction of re-growth with continued use of the Crystal so will defintely keep using it. It is very easy to use and fits comfortably in your hand and does make a nice inclusion into your self care routine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from An interesting idea… [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking forward to trying the Manicare Crystal Hair Remover, because as someone who shaves their legs everyday (I hate the feeling of stubble in bed! :D), I was hoping this might give me the same results but without needing to shower. Unfortunately I just didn’t get the completely smooth result I get when I shave. I was still left with bits of stubble. It may be that the Crystal only works with very fine hair, or that it has to be longer, but the results weren’t what I’d like to use this regularly. A novel idea, and perhaps good for people with sparse, fine hair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I wanted to love it, but... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Do you remember the Silky Mitt, circa mid-'90s? Well, this is the 2023 version – same kind of sandpaper-the-hair-away vibes. I loved the Silky Mitt when I was, what, 11 or 12? I wanted to to de-hair my legs and was yet to graduate to a real life, proper razor, so this fairly risk-free little doo-dad was a winning option. I thought the Manicare Crystal Remover would be a little trip down memory lane, and in many ways it was. The handheld hair remover sat snugly in my hand, and I used the same technique – gently rubbing small circles – to whisk away the hair. And it worked, sort of. There was definitely less hair, BUT... 1. It was a longer process than I was prepared to commit to for an entire leg (let alone two). Regular shaving is quicker and easier, and I'm all about that convenience. 2. I happen to have super-sensitive skin on my legs (weird, maybe? idk, it's a thing) and the amount I had to, er, buff my leg to actually do away with any hair irritated my skin. Like, a lot. I got. rash, it lasted a few days, wasn't pretty. Give me regular shaving and the risk of nicks any day! Look, it's not bad. It could be great! But it wasn't for me. The concept is solid and for people whose legs are less fussy, it might be a winner, but alas, I'll be sticking to regular old shaving.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good not great [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good product - definitely removes hair, however not confident I would use this in replacement of other hair removal methods. Needs to be used after a shower with dry skin - I’d rather simply shave in the shower! Saves me time doing it all in one. Also difficult to use around certain areas given it doesn’t mould to your skin I.e. ankles and uncomfortable to use in more hard to reach places I.e. armpits. Quite painful, red and raw afterwards. If I was use to this, I’d primarily use in between shaves - I’ll be honest, that’s pretty unlikely!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’d firstly like to thank beauty heaven and Manicare for giving me the chance to try the crystal hair remover. The first thing I noticed about this product was how sleek it looked. It is lightweight and attractively shaped. It fits in the hand well and was easy to use. I fist used the product on my legs working in circular motions. I was astounded at how the hair just rubbed off. My legs felt smooth but I quickly developed a rash which I put down to pressing far to hard. The second time I used the harp remover I exfoliated with the gloves prior and I think this made the world of difference. The hair was removed easier and no rash. My legs felt silky smooth. I also found the hair seemed to grow back sparser. The only frustrating thing was I would constantly find areas I had missed so the hair removal was not even. For that reason I have rated this product 3 stars. I will continue to practice but I won’t be throwing away my razor just yet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works.. but time consuming [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this product works well, but you do have to press quite firmly and go over areas multiple times, and it is fairly time consuming. I hadn't allowed a lot of time, so could not complete one whole lower leg. It does result in a nice smooth finish which does feel a lot nicer than a razor shave. Unfortunately I am quite time poor, so for me I would prefer a quick razor shave in the shower than spend the time using this. I would say it would take at least 20 mins to do two lower legs. I liked it, but I would not use going forward and I probably would not recommend to my friends.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would use again [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This actually worked really well once I got the hang of it. You sort of need a medium pressure with circular motion, going over the same spot repeatedly. I found it quite tiresome doing large areas like legs and arms, however it was very effective and painless. I’d personally stick to small areas with fine hair using this in future. The unit itself was a nice design and fitted in my hand well, ensuring I had a good grip. I love that this product is re-usable and eco friendly. Best to use this on damp skin, dry skin didn’t seem to work aswell

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great new product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow this product is so unique and handy! It is a small palm size device that has smooth ergonomic plastic side then the hair removing side that is a white crystal. To prep the skin, first I used the Manicare Exfoliating Body Sponge in the shower to wash and exfoliate my skin, then a day before I also used the Manicare Eco exfoliating gloves to remove any dead skin. Then on dry cleansed skin I used the hair remover, I found it was useful to hold the skin taught and move the remover in light circular motion. I was actually shocked the first time I used it my hair was painlessly falling off! Two things I noticed for me was it didn't work on my thin hairs that I have on my upper thighs, it worked only on the thicker lower leg hair. The other thing with I regret so much, is do not use it on your underarms if they are sensitive and have soft skin. I used it once and ended up taking off the top layer of skin and was in pain for the next two days. It's a great device if you are on the go and realised you missed a spot shaving on you legs, I really like it. Just use with care

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't live up to the hype I bought this a week ago and after a few tries, I have no idea why it has so many raving reviews. I suppose it technically works, so long as you have hours every couple of days to sit around rubbing this thing on your skin, and so long as you don't mind still having hair around your joints. Personally, I'd rather just spend the 5 minutes with a razor.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Manicare crystal hair remover [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product claims to remove body hair quickly, easily and painlessly. It essentially buffs away the hair. I didn’t really find it quick, easy or painless. It is designed to reach every part of your body with ease. I found it awkward to use on areas that weren’t flat – any contoured area (knees, ankles etc) was really difficult for me to make enough contact with to remove hair. It was a really time consuming way to remove hair for me. I had to go over the same area repeatedly and honestly, it took way too long to do. Compared to shaving, epilating or waxing, it was a much longer process. I also found that because I had to go over the same areas repeatedly, it did start to make my skin tender. Not painful, as such, but not great. The advantage over other hair removal methods is probably that you can do it on dry skin (no need to jump in the shower) so you can do it at any time. However, the instructions recommend to use on dry skin after a shower, whereas I would prefer to shower afterwards to wash away the removed hair. This concept may not bother other people. The lack of a storage bag bothers me. The instructions say to “store in the packaging provided”. The packaging provided is the box it comes in, with a cardboard insert. I didn’t find it a good way to store it. I would have preferred a better box or a fabric bag.
