Beautiful Brows at Home with Manicare
Ultimate beauty hack : 4 Everyday items for beautiful brows!
4 Steps to beautiful brows at home
Step 1 - Preparation
- Pull your hair back off your face
- Select a well-lit area with bright or natural light
- Start with a clean dry area. Remove makeup and creams from the brow and around so you can see what you're doing and the hairs will be easier to grab
- If you have finer hairs, use slanted tweezers to provide precision with grabbing the hair
Tip: Plan to tweeze your brows straight after the shower when the skin is warm and pores are open. Alternatively, a warm compress applied for a few minutes will help.
Step 2 - Trimming Brows
- Begin the eyebrow trimming process by brushing all your hairs in an upward motion - tails included
- Trim the tips of stray long hairs along the top of the brow line
- Then, brush the hairs in a downward motion. Assess, and trim only long hairs
Tip: Avoid trimming the inner corners and tail end, otherwise you may be left with a short blunt look.
Step 3 - Identify your shape
- To find out where your brows should begin, align the flat edge of a straight makeup brush to the outside of your nose/inner corner of your eye
- Your true arch is found by taking your brush and laying it diagonally from your nostril to the outside edge of your Iris
- Determine where your brow should end by using your brush to create a line from the outside corner of your nose diagonally to the outside corner of your eye
Tip: If you are not confident - to ensure you don't make any drastic mistakes, you can always use a facial pencil to outline the brow start and end point.
Step 4 - Tweezing
- Hold the skin taut to avoid pinching and to reduce pain
- Tweeze hair in direction of growth to avoid the hair breaking and ingrowns
- Don't be afraid to take away the fuzz and stray hairs from the top
- If you find the process painful, keep applying the warm compress to soothe as you go
Tip: Remember - don't overdo it! Start slow and take your time.
To help soothe and calm after tweezing, gently wipe over with a gentle toner, or try Manicare Soothing Eye Gels. The cooling effect will help soothe and reduce any signs of redness and puffiness.
Once any redness has subsided, to help unruly hairs, brush and apply a little gel or pomade.
KEEP A KIT: Have a few tools - Brow Brush, Spooly (Disposable Mascara Wand), 1-2 Tweezers - one with a slanted tip and one with a flat tip, Magnifying Mirror to check at different angles and Makeup Remover Wipes.

How to help Him clean up his brows at home
His Brows
Men's brows tend to be a lot thicker and can be coarse and unruly. As men age, eyebrows require more care to keep them looking their best. Grooming men's brows does not necessarily mean removing lots of hair. Some men may just want a neutral classic look and need a little tidy up - it's all about taming! The uni-brow look is not an ideal look. Men want two brows, not one, so make sure there's visible skin between them.
What he needs
- Brush or Comb - we suggest Manicare Brow Brush or Manicare Disposable Mascara Wands to brush the brows
- Scissors for trimming
- Flat Tweezers - ideal for coarse, stubby hair
- Pomade or wax to help flatten and tame
Easy tweezing for him
- Cleanse the area to remove any excess oil. The best time to groom men's brows is after a shower when the pores are open. Alternatively, a warm face cloth can be applied over the brows.
- Brush the hairs in an upward motion and trim the tips of stray long hairs along the top of the brow line
- Then, brush the hairs in a downward motion and only trim long hairs
- When it comes to tweezing, a Manicare Magnifying Mirror makes it easy to see - it is best to trim individual hairs
- Start tweezing from the bottom - take out the hairs between the brows, ensuring not to remove past your imaginary line
- Comb and assess. It's ok to have some greys, however, we recommend to remove the coarse, wiry hairs that are sticking up or out
- Apply a little wax or pomade to help tame the brows
Tip: Start slow and avoid taking too much hair off.
Another crucial step is identifying where your eyebrows begin and where they end.
